Mycellians

Lore

When Ruikhire was sacked by the First Transgression of the Saltborn, a surprise defender turned up to repel their vassal remnants. A pale growth, sentient and enraged, rose up to swallow these pretenders. The Freehomers said it spoke to many of them, calling itself the Root of Ruikhire. It knew the names of the streets, the faces of the dead and the old songs of the city.

The Mycellians share one mind across many bodies. When they lose land, the growth beneath it often survives and sends up new bodies in time. Both the Freehomes and the Mycellians claim Ruikhire, and the dispute has led to open fighting in the Ward of Bells and along the Lower Quays.

In time, the Mycellians spread across the World, seeking out the Saltborn and exterminating what they can find.
