The Colloquium is your state's shared research. Every house can give books; every house benefits. It has its own page in the game.
How it works
- Your state's leader chooses one project to research.
- Any member can give books of any category to it. Books are the only thing that counts.
- Each project has three tiers. When the state's books reach a tier, its effect applies to every house in the state, including houses that join later.
- Some projects are open only to states in a realm that makes their material, such as Mining Knowledge for bauxite realms.
- For every 1,000 books you give, you earn 1 renown.
Knowledge fades
Every project that holds knowledge erodes every tick, not just the one being researched. The rate starts at 0.02% a tick. For every tick a project goes without a contribution, its rate rises by 0.01 percentage points, up to 1% a tick. Any contribution, however small, resets that project to the slow rate. Since books go only to the chosen project, the others keep fading faster.
So a state that keeps feeding its research holds its tiers, while one that forgets loses them gradually, then quickly. Every member's news reports when a tier is reached or lost.
