Scientists

A Scientist Name is an honour given to a notable member of the Utopia community. This page lists everyone who holds one, with a short profile for those whose details we have.

What a Scientist Name is

Scientist Names are awarded by the game's owners, MUGA Gaming, to notable community members. There are two main reasons to receive one.

• Social impact. You helped support and grow the player base.
• In-game achievement. You won a top competitive accolade, such as highest Honour, Land or Networth.

Profiles

AquaSeaFoam (aka Jeremy)

AquaSeaFoam, often called ASF, rose to prominence as one of the leaders of the Rage of Absalom kingdom. He was known for running things efficiently with minimal effort, favouring strategic thinking over micromanagement. ASF introduced the “cow” economy, an innovative mass-science pumping strategy to bolster kingdom-wide net worth. He became one of the first to exceed 40,000 acres and led Absalom to around 30 crowns in Utopia’s early ages. Even after stepping back from active play, he kept advising key players and kingdoms.

• Kingdoms/Alliances: Absalom’s Dark Lords (and its successor kingdoms: Hand/Skies/Heart of Absalom, Beauty of Absalom, Destiny of Absalom, Rage of Absalom), Emeriti
• Crowns/Achievements: Approximately 30 crowns led as leader of Absalom; multiple top-rank provinces and pioneering economic strategies

Binar (aka binbin)

Binar began playing Utopia at around age 13, with early participation in Ages 2, 6, and 7. He is known for leadership in Defiance CSB (Slaughtering Brothers Alliance) and later the VAT alliance. He experienced multiple monarch deletions by Mehul, took a break in 2005, and returned in 2007. He was active in the NI alliance for several ages before leading Emeriti to multiple crowns. He is a respected veteran with deep historical ties to the game and community.

• Kingdoms/Alliances: VAT, NI, HaLL, Emeriti
• Crowns/Achievements: Multiple crowns with Emeriti

Hawk

Hawk is also known as Hawkerz. He runs the Absalom IRC server. His day job is a running joke: he has been “confirmed” at various times as a jaguar wrangler, male stripper and accountant. He is also said to be a member of the “cyberpolice”, able to backtrace anyone who has “dun goofed”.

Sonny

Sonny was a founding member of Barcoloco, helping them to attain the first World of Legends quad crown on age 78 (along with numerous subsequent crowns). Sonny brought levity and laughter, even during the most stressful of wars, with expertly timed jokes and hysterical photoshopped images, mostly of Maugrim and Mansoor in compromising positions, a slideshow of Maugrim around the world, and Barcoloco’s infamous pub banner. He was witty and articulate, and engaged with his kingdom mates on a personal level. Sonny passed away and was awarded a posthumous scientist name by the current owners, MUGA Gaming Inc, at the conclusion of age 90.

Tom

Tom (Zulu) is a long-time member and part of MUGA Game Support. He devotes his time and energy to making sure the community is held to the standards set in place, and helps foster a positive culture and gaming experience.

• Kingdoms/Alliances: Fluffylicious, SYG, WeHurt
• Crowns/Achievements: Age 71 Orc Land Crown
